Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By using IGDL you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, do not use the service. There is no account to close, so stopping is simply a matter of closing the page.

2. What the service does

IGDL takes a public Instagram link that you paste, requests the same public page Instagram already serves to a visitor who is not signed in, and returns the address of the video file so your browser can download it. The file transfers directly from Instagram's delivery network to your device, or, in rare cases where that direct transfer fails, is relayed through our server without being written to disk. We do not host, store or re-encode any video.

The service is provided free of charge and is supported by advertising. It may change, break or stop at any time without notice.

3. Acceptable use

You may use IGDL to download public content for your own personal, non-commercial use. For anything beyond that, you must own the content or have permission from the person who does.

You must not:

• Use the service to infringe copyright, trade marks, privacy rights or any other rights of another person.
• Re-publish, sell or monetise downloaded content without the rights holder's permission.
• Access the service through bots, scrapers, scripts or any other automated means, or attempt to download in bulk.
• Interfere with the service, probe it for vulnerabilities, or place an unreasonable load on it.
• Attempt to reach private accounts, stories, or any material that Instagram does not serve publicly.

You are responsible for what you download and for what you then do with it.

4. No affiliation with Instagram or Meta

IGDL is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by or connected to Instagram, Meta Platforms or any of their subsidiaries. Instagram and Meta are trade marks of their respective owners, used here only to describe what the service works with. Your use of Instagram remains governed by Instagram's own terms, and this service does not exempt you from them.

5. No warranty

The service is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular link will work. Instagram can change how it serves content at any time, and when it does, parts of this service may stop working until they are fixed, if they are fixed.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, IGDL and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising out of or connected with your use of the service. That includes any claim arising from content you download or from what you do with it afterwards. Where liability cannot be excluded by law, it is limited to the amount you have paid to use the service, which is nothing.

7. Copyright complaints

No content is hosted here, but if you are a rights holder with a concern, the DMCA page sets out how to send a notice.

8. Termination

We may restrict or block access to the service at any time, for any reason, including suspected automated access or misuse, without notice and without liability. You may stop using the service at any time.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of your operator's jurisdiction, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute arising from them will be handled by the courts of that jurisdiction.

10. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated. The effective date above changes when they are, and continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the updated terms.
